Cruelty free, vegan and vegetarian friendly, Waitrose's own skincare range is already ticking plenty of boxes, but is it any good?

Living with dry, sensitive skin and having eczema since I was a child, I'm always seeking skincare products that don't contain any unnecessary ingredients and that can provide much needed hydration.

When I discovered the Pure range from Waitrose I was excited considering the budget friendly price, and the fact that all products within the range contain at least 98% naturally derived ingredients, and are all fragrance free. I picked up enough products to try out a full skincare routine, from cleansing to moisturising so here's my thoughts...

Now it has to be said my favourite cleanser of all time is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, so I am forever on the look out for a more affordable version. When I spotted the 'Pure Hydration Hot Cloth Cleanser' I thought I was onto a winner, the main differences between these cleansers is that Liz Earl one is cream based whereas the Waitrose cleanser is oil based. That being said the oily texture in the Waitrose cleanser makes it very comfortable on dry skin as well as being really good at lifting makeup and impurities. You are also provided with a muslin cloth which is a vital component in removing the cleanser, drawing out all the makeup whilst gently exfoliating the skin. It works just as well as the Liz Earle and has definitely become the new replacement!

After removing my makeup with the Hot Cloth Cleanser I then move onto 'Pure Face Wash' to insure all my makeup has been removed and there's no oily textured left behind from the cleanser. I believe cleansing the skin with two different products is important in order to have a completely clean base before applying a serum or moisturiser, this allows these products to penetrate the skin properly and provide the best level of hydration.

I found this facial wash really comfortable, non drying or irritating on my skin, it has a really nice light, gel-like texture with not much foaming and left my skin feeling fresh and clean!

Another cleanser I picked up was the micellar water formulated with waterlily, claimed to help to soothe and calm skin. I love micellar waters when I want to remove stubborn eye makeup before going in with my hot cloth cleanser, I also sometimes use it as a cheat for washing my face in the morning to refresh my skin before applying makeup (very lazy).

This one works really well, drawing out all the makeup and not irritating my skin (a problem I have had with other micellar waters).

After all my make-up is removed I move onto moisturising, I use the 'Comforting Serum' straight after cleansing to lock in moisture and to provide deeper hydration. This serum is creamy and lightweight and sinks into the skin almost instantly, I have noticed my skin is more plumped and soft after using this product and is my favourite from the whole range.

I will then follow up with the 'Pure Hydration Night Cream' for an extra layer of hydration which it definitely offers in its rich texture. Unscented and fuss-free this night cream nourishes dry skin whilst not upsetting the sensitive side.

Overall I was really impressed with the range, affordable, simple skincare that doesn't upset my delicate skin is a winner for me. I really love the fact all products are fragrance free as I don’t have to worry about applying them to my skin and breaking out in a rash! I'm defiantly going to be re-purchasing some of the products mentioned as well as trying out some new ones!

Thank you for reading,
